Dear Reader,
Life is a challenge, especially for girls. Living independent lives can be challenging, and standing our ground even more so. Others can confront us, or we can question our own views.
In India, girls skateboard their way out of gender stereotypes, and Afghan girls pick up cameras to depict a world that always sought to exclude them. Six girls at the MIT took to the challenge of inventing a life-changing device for blind people. They show us that being challenged by something can bring out the extraordinary in us, that taking up the challenge can change the world, for us and for others.
We hope this issue’s stories inspire you to tackle your own challenges, and help others face theirs.
