Throughout history nature has been a source of inspiration for artists, offering a space for reflection, comfort and awe. In today’s increasingly endangered and destabilized climate, reflections on our connection to and responsibility for nature are more pertinent than ever.
Girl Museum is seeking submissions of original artworks from female artists focusing on the connection between self and nature for a new series: In the World: Girls’ Visions of Nature.
For this exhibition, we’re seeking artists exploring their relationship to the natural world. Applicants can respond to nature either as a source of solace and escape or in reflection of our changing environment, though there’s no necessity for work to focus specifically on climate change.
All media (including video, images, audio and text) are welcome in this call. However, since we are a virtual museum, all work must be in a digital format.
To submit your work, please fill out this form. Then send all of your artwork files directly to us including your full name and name of artwork in the file name.
If you have any questions, you can ask Scarlett.
The deadline for submissions is 1 July 2024.
We look forward to seeing your work!
