Professor Angharad N. Valdivia served as the Inaugural Head of the Media and Cinema Studies Department. As well, she served as the Interim Director of the Institute of Communications Research for five years, 2009-2014. Within communications research, Valdivia combines the areas of gender studies with ethnic studies and Latin American studies.
Anastasia Todd PhD is the Assistant Professor of Gender and Women’s Studies at the University of Kentucky. Currently, she is working on the completion of her first book which focuses on disabled girlhood, tentatively titled: Cripping Girlhood: Disability, Affect, Ablenationalism.
