Dear Reader,
Often, change comes in little steps – or even tiny steps. Change may be a garden full of runner beans that pose an alternative to child marriage. Or it can be a school project from the Philippines, reassuring girls that they are capable. And sometimes, it is the deadly risk of scorning ISIS publicly, as done by a young Iraqi girl. More often than not, change is nearly invisible, as we were able to see during the first all-men meeting of the new Saudi Arabian Girl Council.
We have gathered the stories of small steps in this issue, and we believe that in a few years from now, they will have turned into milestones of change. Help us turn these steps into leaps by sharing Girl News International.
With strength and hope,
Ashley Remer & Kristina Kraemer
