Dear Reader,
This issue is all about acknowledging that young women—no matter what race, religion, class, or gender—are ‘real’. It’s an odd thing that, still, in the twenty-first century, girls are having to prove that they are real, fight for their voices to be heard, and testify to the cold, hard fact that their lives and experiences DO matter, but are so often ignored. Here at Girls News International, we encourage reading and sharing each individual story: let’s stick together, stay strong and show solidarity with our sisters all over the world who are still vying for their individual and collective sense of self.
