Just throw your garbage on the ground. Feed your children bags of sugar and gallons of Diet Coke. Spit in the face of all those who have fought for your rights and lay down your life for Idiocracy.

Embracing new technology has led us down the garden path, past the red flags and tombstones of children who have been sacrificed to social media and now gen AI. We are watching not only our children’s, but our own brains rot in front of little glowing screens.

Yes, the washing machine has freed up women to be able to go to work. Yes, the dishwasher lets families eat more without thinking about who has to wash up (someone still has to wash up). But this is different. Generative AI does not make less work, it makes us less capable or interested in our work.

A true feminist, a true environmentalist would not even consider using generative Artificial Intelligence (gen AI). You would see the dangers and resist. You would not say ‘oh just one time.’ You would make the time to use your skills, experiences, and thoughts to write that email or essay or text to your friend.

Girls and women will no doubt bear the brunt of the world changes as a result of gen AI. The ways are innumerable. Misogyny, racism, and sexism will be reinforced and proliferated.  The server farms will use up all the water and destroy the environment and communities.

The companies who developed this technology do not have humanity or the planet’s best interests at heart- they want control and to monetize our brains and bodies. Feeding this beast will only accelerate our collective demise. Especially because those who are not using it are still affected by it.

What is the end game here? What did we NEED this for? People are still starving. Guns are still shooting. Why don’t supposedly smart people use their powers for real and actionable life improvements instead of building this bomb that people collectively are setting off day-by-day themselves?

We will do what we can. Girl Museum will not use any gen AI for our work and we will encourage others to understand what it means when they do.

RESIST this madness.
