2020 has been a rough year, for everyone. Compounding global issues has been an ongoing pandemic, divisive politics, and increased violence against Black and Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC). We’ve seen the worst of humanity splashed across the nightly news, making things seem gloomier with every passing day. But that doesn’t mean giving up. It means digging in and taking a stand for the things we care about most.

Girl Museum has been lucky this year – thanks to CaptainIzzy and his streaming community, we were able to reach our fundraising goal for the year. So instead of asking you to support us, we want to spread kindness by showcasing charities and causes that could use your help. If you’re looking to increase your charitable tax deduction (which is a max of $300 for most tax filers in the USA, and potentially more for those who itemize), here’s how you can use those dollars for good.

Our second spotlighted charity is one that doesn’t require financial donations – I Support the Girls. Through an international network of affiliaties, I Support the Girls accepts donations of bras, underwear and menstrual hygiene products to help women and girls experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, impoverishment, and distress caused by natural disasters. As they state,

A woman shouldn’t have to choose between feeding herself and her personal health.  Every woman should have the ability to maintain her dignity.

Since the onset of COVID-19, the organization has seen a 35% increase in demand for products. They have ramped up operations to meet this need, but they need our help to continue serving girls and women in 2021. Whether you are an individual or a business owner, supporting their work can help directly change the lives – and self-confidence – of girls and women around the world.

Here are the many ways you can help I Support the Girls:
