Dear Reader,
Our 10th issue this year gathers many stories about girls’ bodies and who gets to say what happens to them. It seems obvious, but it is one of the most fraught questions in the world. Parents, siblings, communities, governments. Everyone’s opinion seems to be considered, except – the girls.
The Chibok girls are still missing, American girls are still having their genitals cut, and Iraqi girls just want an education. Luckily, there is Beyonce to shine a little light and send some girls to university.
With strength and hope,
Ashley E. Remer
